If you read Genesis, and then walk away as the defeated sinner, than you’ve missed it ALL!
Yes, Jacob may deserve condemnation! BUT that not what he is given. He deserves to be punished, but God gives Him grace.
We cannot wish upon another what we would’t want upon ourselves.
God extends the same mercy and love and kindness and grace upon your life, believer that He gives to Jacob and his sons!
Thats the point of the warts and the scars and the wounds that are so painfully on display in the life of the heroes of the Bible!
John 3:17,18
17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned…
And so… How do we view others?
Do we judge others more harshly than God judges us.
Psalm 103:14
“For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are only dust.”
A lot of times, God uses our weaknesses to bring us back to Him. He uses our problems, our failures, and our pain to speak to us when otherwise we cannot hear Him.
“We can ignore even pleasure. But pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” – C.S. Lewis
